मध्य कमान के सेनाध्यक्ष लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल बलवंत सिंह नेगी ने २१ से २५ नवंबर २०१६ तक चंडीमंदिर, नाहन, देहरादून सैन्य स्टेशनों सहित वायु सेना स्टेशन सरसांवा का दौरा किया।
चंडीमंदिर के दौरे के दौरान ले० जनरल नेगी ने पश्चिमी कमान के सेनाध्यक्ष ले० जनरल सुरिन्दर सिंह से मिले एवं उच्च सैन्य योजनाओं सहित ऑपरेशनल मुद्दों पर चर्चा की। ले० जनरल नेगी ने उत्तराखंड एवं हिमांचल प्रदेश के उत्तरी सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों का भी जायजा लिया। तदोपरांत अपने ऑपरेशनल दौरे के दौरान ले० जनरल बीएस नेगी ने सूर्या सैपर्स के इंजीनियर रेजिमेन्ट तथा स्पेशल फोर्स बटालियन पहचे जहाँ उन्होंने ऑपरेशनल प्रशिक्षण का मुआयना किया।
अपने दौरे के अंतिम चरण में ले० जनरल नेगी ने सरसांवा स्थित वायु सैन्य स्टेशन पहचे जहाँ उन्हें स्टेशन कमांडर द्वारा जानकारी दी गई जबकि ले० जनरल नेगी को रिमाउन्ट ट्ेनिंग स्कूल एवं डिपो सहारनपुर में पहचने पर रिमाउन्ट ट्ेनिंग स्कूल एवं डिपो के सेनानायक ने ऑपरेशनल एवं सुरक्षा से जुडे मुद्दों पर जानकारी दी।
ले० जनरल बीएस नेगी ने उच्च स्तरीय ऑपरेशनल तैयारियों पर संतोष जाहिर करते हुए सैन्यकर्मियों के विशेष कौशलता एवं उनके उच्च प्रशिक्षण की सराहना की।
Lieutenant General BS Negi, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Central Command visited Chandimandir, Nahan, Dehradun Military Stations and Air Force Station, Sarsawa from 21 to 25 November 2016.
During the visit, Lieutenant General BS Negi interacted with Lieutenant General Surinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command on issues related to higher military planning and operational synergy between the theatres. Lieutenant General Negi also carried out reconnaissance of land routes along Northern borders between Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Later, as part of his operational tour, Lieutenant General BS Negi visited the Engineer Regiment of the Surya Sappers and the Special Forces Battalion and witnessed their operational training. The final leg of the tour included visit to the Air Force Station Sarsawa where Lieutenant General BS Negi was briefed by the Station Commander Air Force and the Commandant, Remount Training School & Depot Saharanpur on the station, operational and security matters.
Lieutenant General BS Negi stressed on the ‘need of the hour’ to maintain the highest levels of operational readiness and commended all the personnel for their specialist skills and high levels of training.
