जम्मू-कश्मीर नेशनल पैंथर्स पार्टी के मुख्य संरक्षक, तीन बार विधायक रहे, सुप्रीम कोर्ट के वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता और फिलस्तीनी नायक यासिर अराफात, इराकी प्रेजीडेंट सद्दाम हुसैन, लिबियन नेता कर्नल गद्दाफी जैसे प्रसिद्ध व्यक्तित्व के सबसे पुराने दोस्त और कनाडा, आस्ट्रेलिया और भारत सहित लोकतांत्रिक देशों के संविधान विशेषज्ञ प्रो.भीमसिंह ने राष्ट्रीय और क्षेत्रीय राजनीतिक दलों से आगामी राष्ट्रपति चुनाव में डा. कर्णसिंह को भारत के अगले राष्ट्रपति चुनने आग्रह किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि दुनिया एक गम्भीर संकट से गुजर रही है और भारत दुनिया का एकमात्र देश है, जिसको दुनियाभर में मानव गरिमा के साथ शांति बनाए रखने के लि एक महान भूमिका निभानी है। पूर्वी दुनिया में एक भिन्न संकट है जबकि पश्चिमी दुनिया मंे अपना उपनिवेशवाद के नशे को अपनी सभ्यता से अलग नहीं कर सकता। जबकि पूर्व की ठंडी हवाएं आज पश्चिम तक नहीं पहुंच रही हैं, जिनको ईशा मसीह ने आज से 2000 वर्ष पूर्व महसूस किया था।
प्रो.भीमसिंह ने भारत के राजनीतिक दलों से अपील की कि राष्ट्रपति को पांच सालों के लिए चुना जाना है और आज भारत को ऐसे ही राजदूत की आवश्यकता है, जो भारत की हजारों वर्ष मानवता से जुड़ी हुई संस्कृति और सभ्यता को पूरे भारत में शांति फेलाने के लिए ले जा सकता हो। यह एक राजनीतिक प्रतिनिधित्व नहीं है, बल्कि भारत की सांस्कृतिक विरासत और हमारे हजारों वर्ष की सभ्यता-भारत के राजदूत का प्रतिनिधि है।

Bhim Singh (born August 17, 1941) (Dogri: भीम सिंह) is an Indian politician, activist, lawyer and author. He is the leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP), a political organisation based in the terror-torn Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. He founded the party in 1982, along with his wife Jay Mala. Bhim Singh was the Panthers Party chairman for 30 years, until 2012 when he nominated his nephew Harsh Dev Singh in place. In the 2002 Jammu and Kashmir Elections the Panthers Party under his leadership won all seats in the Udhampur district and formed part of the coalition government. Bhim Singh has held several key posts in the Indian Youth Congress, such as Vice-president (1977–78), General Secretary (1974–76) and President of Jammu and Kashmir State Youth Congress (1973–74) appointed by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Before breaking away from the Congress Party to found the JKNPP in 1982, he served as a General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, the central decision-making assembly of the Indian National Congress Party.
He has been an elected member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (1977–87) from Chenani-Ghordi (Udhampur). In 1988, future prime minister Vajpayee joined him on hunger strike in front of the Election Commission offices as they had rigged an election against Bhim Singh preventing him from joining the Indian Parliament. The Jammu and Kashmir High Court ruled in favour of Bhim Singh, ruling that he had won the Lok Saba by-election from Udhampur, a seat previously held by his kinsman Dr. Karan Singh, the former Crown prince of Jammu and Kashmir and its first President.
Bhim Singh from the village of Bhugterian near Ramnagar is a descendant of the Wazir and General Zorawar Singh of the royal Dogra clan, referred to by historians as “Conqueror of Ladakh” and the “Napoleon of India” for his 19th century conquests of the Himalayan Kingdoms of Ladakh, Tibet and Baltistan. While the Dogra Rajput dynasty is believed to be descended from the mythical Ikshvaku (Solar) dynasty that in Eastern religious scriptures has produced personalities such as Lord Rama, Gautama Buddha, and twenty-two out of the twenty-four Jain Tirthankaras.
Despite his Hindu royal and religious histories, Prof. Bhim Singh has politically and through the judiciary fought for democracy and secularism for over 55 years in Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir, once described by President Bill Clinton as “the most dangerous place in the World.” In doing so Singh has spent 8 years in jail and endured militancy, Islamic extremism, terrorism and false arrests as consequence of the Jammu and Kashmir insurgencies and the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir armed conflict between India, Pakistan & China. He was allegedly poisoned in the Srinagar Central Jail in 1978 after speaking out against Sheikh Abdullah, the then Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir In 1985, in a landmark hearing he was awarded fifty thousand rupees by the Supreme Court of India for his false imprisonment after being suspended as a Member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. The order of compensation from his case would change the tort law in India While his 1996 efforts in moving the supreme court and the election commission are seen as instrumental in returning democratic elections after nine years of absence to militancy torn Jammu and Kashmir. In 2017, Bhim Singh in a historic judgment, defeated the government of India in the Supreme Court, enabling bar council elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir for the very first time, in accordance to the Advocates Act 1961.

Hon’ble Prime Minister, Sir,
It is my pleasure rather privilege to write to you, the Prime Minister of India, about the choice for the next President of India. You are the Prime Minister of this country and you have an opportunity to demonstrate your will to select a candidate which may be acceptable to the political parties and Legislators as well as to the conscience of average citizen of this country—Bharata.
In the history of the world today we are passing through a dangerous period when nuclear weapons are hovering in the skies over our heads threatening the very existence of the humanity. India is the only country in the world which stands in the middle of the world with its thousands of years civilisation and mines of humanism, that has capacity and capability as well as acceptability around the world to convey the message of peace and human dignity. India, as I experienced during my motorcycle travelling around the world for more than five years was a great and unique experience to know India as it reflected from the minds of the people of the world—East, West, North and the South that I experienced myself which I have tried to convey throught contents of my book, ‘Around the World on Motorcycle—Peace Mission’.
This is the time when India can take a lead to ensure that peace rules the world and peace is possible when India’s treasure of Upnishadas and Literature and its wave for universal peace and human dignity is spread through the voice of Indian leadership. I addressed a letter to the Central and the Regional leadership of India in my letter dated 6th May, 2017 in this regard. In which I had urged the “Members of Electorate College to elect the next President of India who shall represent India’s cultural heritage and its centuries’ old cool breeze of love and affection. Dr. Karan Singh is the best choice. The political parties may reach a consensus. It shall send a great message unto the world.”
There may be many more notables who enjoy equally goodwill and have capacity and capability to represent India as its President at this difficult juncture. But India has a small problem created by our neighbourers in J&K and that problem has been disturbing our peace for nearly 70 years. Dr. Karan Singh as a President of India shall be an appropriate answer to the questions raised by our neighbourers regarding the so-called issue vis-à-vis Jammu and Kashmir. The Hon’ble Members of the Electoral College should think of their representative who has knowledge of the world history, who has experience to run Governments, a person who has knowledge of the world affairs, a person who has a history of his own and who has command on the languages which are spoken at home and abroad. A person who has an experience, education and knowledge of the history of his own country and the history of the world. We have a person, Dr. Karan Singh who shall pass all the tests as an educationist, as a representative of India’s cultural edifice and who has perfection in most of the languages spoken in India and on the floors of the United Nations. Here is the person today in the history of India who represents the unique voice of India rather entire Asia and who shall carry the Indian Flag unto the world with agenda of peace, humanity, brotherhood and human glory. This opportunity, I am sure India is not going to miss.
I call on the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, the Hon’ble President of Indian National Congress, Hon’ble Presidents of all the regional parties to have a look into my appeal which has no political interest but is only for giving a chance to Bharata to lead the world towards peace and humanism.
Every Indian shall feel dignified and honoured when its President shall address the world from Kremlin, White Hall or White House for world peace and humanism which world needs most today. History changes, philosophy changed too but the men with the historical background carrying unique voice for universal peace do hardly emerge in the history of a Nation. This is an opportunity which the Hon’ble Members of Electoral College can play a unique role. India has a best Captain to lead the peace movement with global understanding for the progress of the entire world. I hope the leadership shall consider my urge.

NPP Supremo urges to National & Regional Parties to propose Dr. Karan Singh as next President
Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party, 3-times Legislator, Sr. Advocate in the Supreme Court of India and oldest friend of noted international personalities like Palestinian Hero Yasir Arafat, Iraqi President, Saddam Hussain, Libyan Leader, Col. Qaddafi and expert on the Constitutions of democratic countries including Canada, Australia and India has urged the National and the Regional Political Parties in the Republic of India to make a common choice to elect their next President of India without a political bias or favour. He said the world is passing through a grave crises and India is the only country in the world which have a great and a noble role to play to ensure that peace with human dignity is maintained all over the world. The East has a different crises whereas the West is sulking in its complex/inferiority. It concedes over the outdated political charges and has not recognised the cool breeze of the East that even Christ felt in Jerusalem 2000 years back when he was facing the heat of his opponents while fighting for justice and humanity in Jerusalem.
Prof.Bhim Singh appealed the political parties of India that India has to elect one President for five years and India has best of the personalities/notables today who can be a shining Ambassador of India’s shining culture and civilisation. It is not a political representation but a representative of India’s cultural heritage and Ambassador of our thousands years old civilisation—Bharata.
Prof.Bhim Singh reminded the national leadership at the Centres and the States that he had addressed a letter to the Hon’ble Electorates in this process on 6th May, 2017 urging all the Hon’ble “Members of the Electoral College to elect the next President of India who shall represent India’s cultural heritage and its centuries’ old cool breeze of love and affection. Dr. Karan Singh is the best choice. The political parties may reach a consensus. It shall send a great message unto the world.”
